Why I Upload Some Of My Videos To Viddler.com Rather Than YouTube.com
Earlier today on Twitter, I was asked why some Internet marketers
upload their videos to Viddler rather than to YouTube. I didn't
know the answer but did a little research and found this very
compelling reason. Viddler lets you upload longer videos!
I had been breaking some of my videos that took longer than 10
minute to explain something into several shorter videos. Now,
I'll just stream those videos from Viddler :-)
Here's what's posted on each of the two sites:
YouTube site says "Your video is limited to 10 minutes and
1024 MB."
On Viddler, it says " Right now, the limit is 500 MB (no length
limit) per video, and there is no limit to the total number of
videos uploaded."

The Birth Of The Longest Wiener Contest - At The Internet Marketing Momentum Bootcamp

49 Years To Overnight Success
Today is "Independence Day" in the United States.
It has special significance for me because of the
fact that it commemorates America's independence as
a country, AND because it marks the 5th anniversary
of my own independence.
I started online in 1996, but I didn't go full-time
Internet... as in retire from the military until
June 2003. I retired at the end of June BECAUSE I
wanted July 4th to be a celebration of total
freedom.
Today, I do celebrate total freedom...
Freedom to work when I want to
Freedom to work where I want to
Freedom to work with whom I choose to... or more
accurately, freedom not to be trapped working with
people that I don't want to work with.
Today, I wanted to give you just a little more of
how I got there though.
I wrote my life's history in a book entitled "Git
Off The Porch." You'll find it at

Let me give you the part that should matter to
you... the example that I set of how you can build
an online business and work for yourself from home.
In May of 1982, I graduated from North Carolina
State University. I was commissioned a Second
Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force on the same day.
At that time I had no real clue what I wanted to do
with my life. I just knew that I didn't want to spend
it working the tobacco fields that I'd spent EVERY
summer from when I was 7 - 18 working.
I had been selected to go to navigator training, where
I would be a crew member on military aircraft. What
aircraft I would end up flying would be determined by
"luck of the draw" and what standing (within the class)
I ended up in at the end of training.
I ended up in the middle of my class and was assigned
to C-130 transports. It was the perfect job for me.
Over the next 17 years, I traveled to "47" different
countries, and dabbled in 5 different languages. It was
a great experience and I have no regrets.
I've been through:
-- Wars... Grenada was my first one, although it was
the first real vacation that I had ever had. I spent
about a month in Barbados in support of that "war."
-- Tsunami's... one came through Hawaii while I was
there... actually killing people on Kauai
-- Earthquakes... they were a regular part of life in
both Japan and Alaska. You'd feel the house shake and
continue with what you were doing.
-- Volcanoes... I helped to evacuate U.S. personnel
from the Philippines after Mt. Pinatubo erupted...
destroying the bases there. We also routinely had to
fly around plumes of volcanic ash while in Alaska. It
can really harm aircraft paint and engines.
-- Dozens of Hurricanes and Typhoons
-- Wild fires
-- Floods
-- Coups
-- and things that I selectively forget :-)
In 1991, I was assigned to a headquarters job at
Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. That job eventually
gave me access to the early commercial internet. I
spent a lot of time mostly looking around, and
printing things out on the office print when no one
was looking :-)
In June 1995, we moved to Elmendorf Air Force Base
in Anchorage, Alaska.
While in Alaska, in-between salmon fishing, and
trekking through the frozen wilderness with my bow
(stalking moose), I built my first website... and
NEVER looked back. All but one moose appreciates
the fact that the Internet distracted me from being
the great hunter. We ate that moose!
My first website was "a banner farm"... selling
everything related to how to make money online
that I could sign up as an affiliate for :-)
It didn't make that many sales, and I learned that
you needed to FOCUS on ONE primary product. I
learned slowly, but things did steadily improve
and I did make money in those early days.
In October 1998, I packed my wife, my dog, and my
two teenage daughters into our 28-foot motor-home,
and we drove from Alaska to Florida.
The Air Force gave us 16 days to make the drive
and we used all 16 days. It was so cold driving
the frozen mountainous highways in Alaska and
Canada that our holding tanks froze :-)
At night, even the condensation from our breath
formed ice on the inside of the motor-home.
When we finally arrived at Eglin Air Force Base
in Florida, my job was to test computer software...
something that I was completely clueless about.
I was selected for the job because I was an
aircrew member who had headquarters experience,
and because I asked for the assignment.
I wanted my last assignment to be in Florida.
I actually spent 20 years in the Air Force and
EVERY assignment that I had was a first choice!
I learned the secret to getting what you want...
in or out of the military...
YOU ASK FOR IT!
I quickly learned my job of testing software
although most of it was supervising people
who had been doing it for a long time. They
did most of the testing, and I wrote/signed
off on the reports.
In 2000, I sat down and outlined a cookbook
which I then self-published. I used the
marketing know-how that I'd picked up from
reading countless ezines over the years to set
up a website that did a fairly good job of
selling the cookbook.
I also sold numerous affiliate products. I
was constantly looking for "internet marketing
products" that would sell well. They were
actually fairly hard to sell.
Today, in retrospect, I realize that my best
sellers have mostly been outside of the Internet
marketing niche. The reason is partly because
my competitors in that niche, who are most
successful, spent YEARS in direct sales before
coming online.
They have better training than I do... and probably
better training than you do.
I can enter a niche outside of Internet marketing
and using what I've learned about online marketing,
I can quickly be the dominant marketer... or one
of them anyway.
I really, really push those that I coach now to
get into niches outside of Internet marketing.
It's just so much easier. However, MOST of the
people that I deal with choose Internet marketing
as their niche... and then they battle it out with
the-best-of-the-best... often struggling for years.
Today, it's so easy. You can take a template
website, customize it, stick it on a host, plug
in traffic using something that automatically
attracts the search engines such as a blog, and
be making money in DAY... literally.

a method of generating traffic, a method of generating
sales... really everything.
I can take one of those sites, and make my first sale
in under a day :-)
Back to my story...
In the fall on 2002, Dr. Bob Silber was reading
some of the articles that I had written, and just
studying my online activity. He was impressed
enough that he invited me to speak at his seminar at
Hawks Cay (in the Florida Keys) that December.
That was the first seminar that I ever attended and
it completely changed how I did things. I learned
the power of networking and working with others in
my niche.
Prior to that seminar, I view EVERYONE as my
competition. I believed that if my customers spent
a dollar with you, then they couldn't spend it with
me. Jonathan Mizel educated me as to the FACTS
during his presentation at that first seminar.
Others listened to my presentation and educated me
as to the fact that while my cookbook was a great
product, and my story was inspiring, I was leaving
90% of the money on the table because I didn't have
a backend at that time.
At that seminar I met Marty Foley, Bob Silber,
Jonathan Mizel, John Reese, Fred Gleeck, Frank Garon,
Armand Morin, Lori Prokop, Ryan Deiss, Joel Holtzman,
Ramon Williamson, and a few others... MOST of whom I
still work closely with to this day.
Frank and I just co-hosted a seminar, Joel wrote
several pieces of software that I own the rights
to, Ramon was my coach for a while, Bob and I
created several products together, Marty and I
created several products together... you get the
picture.
That December was when I DECIDED that I was ready
to really ramp things up. Within a week of getting
back from that seminar, I made the decision to host
my own... and I did 4 months later.
I decided that I needed an Internet marketing
product that was in demand and offered residual
income, so I private labeled the 1ShoppingCart
System, setting up http://ProfitAutomation.com
Profit Automation is still going strong today and
does offer a residual income stream :-)
I hosted my seminar in April 2003, and around the
same time told my bosses that I wanted OUT of the
military by July 4th, 2003. Since I'd have 20
years, they couldn't really say no... although we
were ramping up things in Iraq... and they could
have used that as an excuse to keep me longer.
They put the paperwork through, I had a retirement
ceremony at the end of June, and that July 4th, I
celebrated my first REAL Independence Day.
When I retired from the Air Force, my online
business was doing well enough that I didn't feel
compelled to get another J-O-B. I just stepped
right into running my own online business
fulltime.
So now you know the rest of the story.
I did leave out the days that I'd work 12 - 18
hours at my military job, then work at the
computer in my house in Alaska until I fell
asleep at the keyboard. I'd often awake in the
middle of the night, with my hands still resting
on the keyboard, and the screen would be filled
with whatever letter my finger rested on :-)
Today, I do enjoy the lifestyle that I often
blog about, and share photos of. However, I've
been working at building this lifestyle since 1996,
and at 49 years of age, I am an overnight success
after 49 years.
If you're just starting out, the Internet
life-style is not a myth. However, if you dig
deeper, you'll see that most "overnight successes"
put in some very long "nights."
In closing, I really do want to encourage you to
look at niches outside of Internet marketing. Look
at niches that a LOT of regular people are
passionate about, and spending money on. Look at
some of the niches on this page:

These are areas that people have problems in and
are actively looking for solutions in. They ARE
spending a lot of money for solutions in those
niches. When you offer those solutions, making
money online need not be a struggle.
By the way, the majority of people that I communicated
with during my early days online... bouncing ideas
off of via email in the middle of the night, simply
GAVE UP.
I was too stubborn to even consider giving up! For
a soldier, giving up is never an option :-)

Perceived Value: What is it and Why is it Important to You as an Information Marketer
Perceived Value: What is it and Why is it Important to You as an Information Marketer?
In the information marketing world you’ll frequently hear the phrase “perceived value” uttered. Simply put, it means how much people think your product is worth. How you choose to package the information you’re selling will have a tremendous impact on how your customers perceive its value.
Let’s take a look at the relative perceived values of different products from lowest perceived value to highest perceived value. Keep in mind the content is identical regardless of the packaging.
Example 1: Single CD
Low ---> Medium ---> High
Paper Sleeve ----- Jewel Case ----- DVD Style Case
If the CD is a free lead generation tool or a bonus item then a paper sleeve may be your best choice. The price that you're asking for the product will, to a large extent, determine what kind of packaging you want to utilize. If you're giving it away you need to go bare bones on your packaging.
But, if the product is selling for $47, $97 or more than you need to dress up the package. It needs to be more impressive so a jewel case with full color inserts or a DVD style case with a full color outsert will be called for. Remember, the content is identical. You are influencing the perceived value of your content by packaging it differently.
Example 2: 100 Page Manual
Low ---> Medium ---> High
Saddle Stiched -- Perfect Bound -- Spiral Bound -- 3-ring Binder
Again, the content is identical in each of the formats. But the public has been conditioned to equate the value of a perfect bound book with a $19.95 price or so you'll find in your traditional bookstore. Put that same information into an 8-1/2” x 11” spiral bound document or a 3-ring binder then it appears to be more specialized knowledge and people are willing to pay more for it.
If you're selling a multifaceted product that consists of many CDs and/or DVDs and some printed materials that going to have a ticket price of $497 or higher then you definitely want to stay toward the upper medium to high end of the perceived value scale.
How you choose to package the components of your information product is critical to how people will perceive its value. Be aware of the value scales above when you're deciding how you want your product to look and make sure your packaging is consistent with what you want the perceived value of your product to be.

Congratulations, you’re an information marketer. Maybe you've just developed your first product or maybe you're an old pro who's been at it for a while.
If you’re approaching your business the correct way you’re continually building your own information products empire in your area of expertise.
That means you’re producing books or manuals, or audio and video- based training materials. Maybe it’s CDs or DVDs. Doesn’t matter. The important thing is you’ve got a number of products you can promote via you speaking engagements, through your website, by joint venturing, or by any other number of methods.
Now let’s ask the tough question. If you’re having any degree of success you may now be wearing all of these hats (and more):

When you’re first starting out you probably should do it all yourself. You need to have an understanding of what is involved in producing and delivering your products to your customers.
But if your business is growing you’ll quickly find out that too much of your time is being spent on the mundane tasks - copying binders (or running to Kinko’s), duplicating CDs and labeling them, packaging things together, putting products in boxes, running down to the post office or UPS, etc. Which means you’re not spending your time where you get the biggest bang for your buck – sales, marketing, product creation and, for some, public speaking.
When is the right time to outsource your duplication and fulfillment requirements? Ultimately, you’ll have to decide when that time is for yourself. But what do you value your time at? $100 per hour, $200 per hour, more? Then how long does it make sense for you to be spending your time doing $10 or $20 per hour tasks? If you’re spending an hour per day running products to the post office that’s an hour you’re not investing in your real bread and butter. And what is your opportunity cost?
When you’re spending time working in your business rather than working on your business then opportunities will slip by without you even noticing them. There is a time when outsourcing your product duplication and fulfillment requirements makes sense - both from a time management and a financial standpoint. When is that time right for you?

The Best Internet Marketing Business Model...
Today's newsletter....
I'm catching my breath after attending 5 seminars in less
than 2 months, including one that I co-hosted.
During those events I interacted with a LOT of people.
I've posted photo's from some of those events to my blog

In all of my interactions at those events I sensed two HUGE
missing pieces.
First of all, I sensed that most people were overwhelmed with
having so many choices, and so much information. People
simply don't know which path to choose. They often don't know,
with any real degree of confidence, where to start with their
online business.
I'll share that I probably felt the same way at one time, so
I just chose a path (after examining my options).
You do at some point have to just make a decision.
Since making that decision, my path has changed many times.
It's only now becoming incredibly clear.
In case you're interested, I see myself spending about half
of my working time over the next several years working with
local businesses. Local "brick and mortar" businesses will
spend an increasing amount of their operating budgets using
online methods to get customers through the door, and to
build customer loyalty. I'll help them in two ways:
1) I'll teach them, in small local workshops, how to fix all
of the things that are wrong with their websites, and how to
turn those websites into effective direct response customer
generators.
2) I'll also use my own directory websites to generate and
funnel new customers to them.
I do have blueprints for both objectives already mapped out.
I've even shared my blueprints with you ALREADY... but you
may not have been paying attention.

I don't really have to work very hard to fill my workshops,
and this is such as easy business model that focusing on
it is a no-brainer for me.
I'll spend about half of my time helping struggling online
entrepreneurs to build thriving businesses. That time will
be spent working with those who are serious enough to
actually start doing what it takes.
That second "HUGE missing piece" that was shown to me in
my interactions at seminars was "true step-by-step
instruction."
I've had numerous people point out this glaring problem
to me. Lots of websites promise step-by-step instructions
but VERY few deliver.
It finally dawned on me why this is the case...
Most of the people teaching you how to do things in the
Internet marketing niche have never actually done what they're
"teaching you!" So, they dance all around the topic without
ever settling down and actually teaching you in-depth how to
do things.
It is true that what you need to do will differ from person
to person, and situation to situation, but there are still
some basics that don't differ.
As I thought about this I decided to step up to the plate
and be the one to provide you with this very detailed
step-by-step how-to guidance. That's what I'm frantically
working on right now.
Why am I doing this?
Why should I be the one to do this?
I asked myself that question as I listened to those
telling me that this is what they really wanted. As I looked
deep within myself I acknowledge that as someone with over
12 years of online marketing experience, I am more qualified
that most others to be the one teaching this information.
Looking at the fact that most others don't teach you true
step-by-step how-to, I had to also acknowledge another fact...
Maybe I'm even a little intimidated by the challenge of
actually TEACHING YOU what really works... step-by-step,
and feeling responsible for having you follow my lead.
That meant that I had to actually KNOW what I was talking,
or writing, about.
I'm stepping up to the challenge, and you'll hear more

Email From A Long Time Customer
This is a sanitized email that I got from a customer recently.
I asked her permission to share it, and she granted that but
requested that I not reveal her identity or niche.
There are a LOT of very powerful lessons hidden in this simple
email written from the heart :-)
For the skeptics (and the FTC), I do have this note on file. I'm
hoping that she'll let me use it unsanitized some day. I'm fairly
confident that she will.

Dear Willie,
I realize that you do not personally know me, although we have had brief
communication in the past on various forums, including your own. Before you
hit the delete button, I want you to know that this really is a personal
email, written directly to you - and only to you...and it is rather long.
I guess I should start this letter with a little background information
about myself...
I am a highly successful xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx. I am also a 'fairly'
successful xxxxx marketer. I must use the term 'fairly' here because I
compare that success to my success as a xxxer. I've been around for a great
deal longer than most people realize...quietly making a living online since
2001.
If you are wondering about the term 'quietly,' I mean that I have a website
for my xxxxx business, but I don't advertise it, I don't use SEO
tactics...I really don't do anything at all to promote it. I actively read
the forums, but I rarely make a post, and when I do, it's because I have a
genuine question, or I can answer a question that nobody else is answering.
I may make a total of five forum posts in a twelve month period - if that,
and usually, I have to sign up again as a member because it's been so long
since I posted, that I don't remember my username and password (or if I even
have one for that particular forum). I'm quiet, yet I am successful by being
quiet.
Most of my xxxx work comes from referrals, and I work with very steady
clients - many of whom are well known marketers. You know that drill...they
xxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxx and tell me their requirements, I xxxx xxxx xxx
xxxxxxx, they change it to suit themselves or their purposes, they pay
me, they make money from the product, and everyone is happy. Before you get
suspicious, I'm not shopping for a new client by contacting you...I have
enough work :)
I also get work from people who manage to find my obscure little website.
Sometimes, I make people mad, because there are many jobs that I turn
down...either because I'm overloaded with work, or because I'm not
necessarily overloaded, but want to take it easy for a while...or because I
cannot, for moral reasons, xxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxx - for any amount of
money.
As for affiliate marketing, in the past, I've steered clear of the Internet
Marketing niche, and all that it entails, and I've played in much smaller,
non-marketing related niches, and done most of my affiliate marketing with
xxxx xxxxxxx (stands to reason, since I am a xxxxxxxx), and despite what
all of the experts advise, I have managed to earn a great deal of money
sending customers directly to the merchant site, using my uncloaked
affiliate link in xxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx.
I have, however, recently decided to start playing in the Internet Marketing
niche, for my own personal reasons...which may mean that I have to start
speaking up, just a little bit, but being the type of person that I am, I'm
not likely to get overly loud or aggressive :) My personal reason: I don't
like the direction that Internet Marketing has taken in recent years, and
I'm hoping to use my xxxxx talent and my knowledge to bring back the old
spirit of this industry.
That's enough about me. I'm not writing to tell you of my successes...I just
wanted to give you a little background information...on to the reason for
this letter.
Over the years, I've been quietly watching all of the players in the
Internet Marketing arena. There have been winners and losers, and very few
have impressed me in any way, shape, or form. I'm not easily impressed, and
never have been.
You, however, have repeatedly impressed me a great deal over the years, and
I just want you to know that. Today, I took part in the Daddy's Day
Giveaway, and came to your gift. I was so impressed with the way that you
sent me right to the download, and then gave me the option to sign up, that
I felt compelled to write you this letter - just to let you know how much
you are appreciated and how valuable you are in this industry.
I've watched how you handle things on your forum. I've read your
newsletters. I've visited your sites and sales pages. I've purchased your
products. I've seen how you handle yourself on other forums. I've seen how
choosy you are when it comes to Joint Ventures and product recommendations.
I've seen that you believe in and use the products and services that you
promote.
You, Mr. Willie Crawford, represent everything that Internet Marketing
should be - you represent the true spirit of the Internet, and the old

Aren't You Ready For Success Now ... Plus The Story Of When I First Met John Reese

I started internet marketing back in 1996, and at
that time, I decided that I was going to someday
operate my own successful online business. I decided
that I would work:

As I sit in my suite high up in The Monte Carlo
Hotel in Las Vegas, I have to acknowledge that I
AM living that dream.
The reason that I'm still in Las Vegas is that
tomorrow I'll attend a mastermind meeting with
some of the most successful affiliate marketers
that I know. These marketers were invited by Jeff
Walker, and were the top affiliates during his
recent product Launch Formula 2 promotion... plus
a few friends.
