With this issue of Limitless Marketing we are going to a new
format. Many of you have suggested the changes and I am
listening. Beginning with this issue, each issue will:
- Be a very quick read - I know that you are busy!
- Contain only 2 or 3 ads. These ads will be screened and I
will be highly selective what offers are presented to you.
- Since we are only running 3 ads we are doing away with the
doubles contest. Instead, we now ask that you email us with
the top sponsor ad each week. We will draw one winner at random
from all entries received and they will win a 60 word or less ad
in a future issue. The ad must be approved by our staff and

In the August 16th issue we gave you a list of 20 simple things
you can do today to dramatically increase your website sales.
Today I would like to continue that list. Here are a few more
ideas you can implement immediately to supercharge your website
sales:
1) Joint venture with ezine publishers. The idea in a joint
venture is to cooperate with another business owner and both
gain from the deal. Joint ventures I consider ideal for doing
with ezine publishers include:
- Swapping articles with other ezine publishers. The limited
space in your ezine is very valuable. Why not run another
publisher's article in exchange for them running your article.
If the resource box can be modified to refer visitors to the
publisher's affiliate url many publisher will consider that even
better.
- Helping each other get new subscribers. You can do this by
recommending the other ezine on the "thank you page"
your
subscribers are present with. You can also do this by a
personal recommendation in the body of your ezine. Finally
you can use one of the many popup box type subscriber
generating services - thereby cooperating with many ezines.
- Negotiating with ezine publishers to promote your product
or service for a special commission. This commission is
normally higher than the commission available for signing up
to the affiliate program. Otherwise, there is no new incentive.
You could also offer extra bonus only to subscribers of a given
ezine to make the offer special. Solo mailings and top sponsor
ads work best for this type of joint venture. Personal
recommendations rather than template mailings allow the
publisher to give his readers a sincere recommendation for a
product or service he knows will benefit his subscribers.
2) Increase the number of testimonials on your website. Credible
testimonials will dramatically increase your sales. There
are many marketers who will tell you that you can never have
too many testimonials. Testimonials from well-known
personalities, testimonials with website urls, and testimonials
with specific benefits are most powerful. If you don't have as
many testimonials as you would like to have, email some of your
past customers and ask for feedback. Ask for permission to
post the positive feedback on your website. Take the negative
feedback to heart and fix those problems :-)
3) Examine your site's statistics and use that information.
What pages on your site are people visiting the most and why?
What results are you getting from traffic to these pages, can
you make changes to better capitalize on that traffic. Are
you getting many "page not found" errors. If so,
determine why
and fix it. At the same time, make sure that your 404 error
page directs your visitors to where you want them to go. You
should have a custom 404 page for this purpose. If you don't
know how to do this review the documentation provided by your
web host or ask at an online forum. What pages are people
leaving your site through most often? Should you delete or
modify this page? Determine what about this page is driving
them away. Is your order form converting a lot of prospects
or losing a lot of sale? Just a few things to think about.
Analyze your logs very closely looking for patterns.

4) Spend your limited time doing things which generate the
best return. For some of us, that means hiring a virtual
assistant or two to do menial chores so that we can do those
things which we do best. Look at how you spend time
working your business and ask if this is the best use of
your time. Don't just look at short-term results though. For
example, I spend a lot of time on discussion forums. I have
a lot of prospects come to me months later who are attracted
to me through these forums. Some of them have spent several
thousand dollars with me. Since visiting the forums is
something I also enjoy doing, and since it is the perfect
medium for me to do marketing research, it is time well
invested.
5) Stop doing things that aren't working. When I look at
the methods that many people are using to promote their
businesses I know that they must be getting terrible results.
If their advertising is attracting and prospects, they are
likely prospects unwilling or unable to buy their products or
services. Take a break from the flurry of activity you are
engaged in (promoting your business) and ask if it's working.
If not, consider making a change. If you look around you'll
notice many changes made by online business successes. Some
that I have noticed which immediately come to mind are:
- Some website operators have closed discussion forums which
were just a drain of their resources.
- Some ezine publisher have stopped publishing because this
was not the optimal way to promote their business or use
their time.
- Many ezine publisher have changed the format of their
ezine to something which would have a higher readership.
That's part of my reason for changing my format. I know
that many of you don't want to read one long ad sheet.
- Many ezine publishers no longer sell ad-space. The limited
space in their ezine is more profitably used promoting a
favorite product or cause in a more subtle way.
These are just a few changes for you to consider making
this week. If they make sense to you, discuss them with a
trusted mentor, and then make the changes if appropriate.
