CHOOSING THE RIGHT NUTRITIONAL MLM
by Turfseer (Lewis
Papier)
Many people who
have thought of starting their own home-based
business are drawn to many of the Nutritional MLM's on
the
market today. Before looking at the products,
the new
entrepreneur should be extremely wary of any company
promising
big bucks for little work. Some unscrupulous
individuals try
to convince new people that by simply building a downline,
that
will automatically lead to great profits. What they
really are
pitching is a pyramid scheme and it gives the whole
network
industry a bad name. If you are merely trying to
sign up people,
expecting them to sell for you, and not sell the products
yourself, then you are getting into a highly dubious area.
In reality, the bulk of your profits will always be from
the
direct sales you make to your customers on the first
level.
Eventually, if you contact enough people, you will find a
few
people who want to do some selling themselves. But
when you
first start out, DON'T COUNT on getting these type of
people.
You will not make most of your money from other people
selling
...you will make it from your own efforts! Now this
is not to
say that eventually you can reap profits from other
peoples'
sales...you may get lucky and recruit somebody who
pursues the
business with a vengeance and you will profit from their
activity
...but this will probably come after you have made
contact with
many people on your first level and found that person
during your
selling acitivities.
The first level commission is very important. Some
companies
require that you sell a certain amount of products (usually
within the period of a month) to qualify for regular
commissions.
When you fulfill this obligation, it shows the company
that you
are serious about selling and they reward you with the
right to
earn commissions at a certain level. Once you've
earned the right
to make regular commissions, you should be getting at
least 30%
for your efforts. Anything under 30% on the first
level and it's
much harder to make a profit down the road.
While the commission structure is important, the products
that
you are selling are even more important. If you
have products
that are being sold by every other company and there's
nothing
unique about them, why should a new customer want to use
your
products? In addition, can you find these products
in the
health food store? If you're offering Vitamins,
Herbs like St.
John's Wort, DHEA, MSM, Chromium Picolinate Products, etc.,
you
can find all of these products in the health food, so why
shouldn't your customer go down and buy them there?
Some MLM Nutritionals sell hundreds of items ...a virtual
supermarket of products. This is a tipoff that they
don't
really have anything unique. There are also companies
that
combine selling Nutrition Products with Personal Care
items.
I think that you lose your focus when you try to mix
Nutritionals
with other products.
The whole point of selling Nutritional Products is that
by
doing so you can make a significant impact on a person's
health. Your products should be able to
address health
challenges and help the body to heal itself. Your
company
should be devoted to educating people about aspects of
self-healing and a good part of their literature and
promotional
tapes, should be geared toward that end. Most important,
you
should be using the products yourself and you should be
enthusiastic about them. If you don't believe in
the products
yourself, why should you bother trying to sell them to
others?
Finally, your company should have a mission that goes
beyond
just making money. If your products really help
people and you
have the testimonials to prove it (including your own),then
you
can be proud of what you're sellingand take an active
interest
in promoting the company's mission.
